All are welcome to join us for mass, even if you are not Catholic or have not practiced your faith in some time. If you are not Catholic or not prepared to participate in the Holy Eucharist you may still join us in prayer as it is appropriate to be fully prepared prior to receiving the Holy Eucharist.

Minister of Life-long Formation

The Catholic Parishes of Defiance, St. John the Evangelist and St. Mary, are seeking a qualified individual to serve as the Minister of Life-long Formation. This full-time staff position is responsible for assisting in the coordination of the OCIA process, leading and directing the Second Hour program, and creating and encouraging an environment of life-long learning and experience in discipleship of Jesus Christ. The applicant must be willing to work as part of ministry team, have a love for the Catholic faith, and a passion for religious education. Interested applicants should have sufficient experience in leadership and parish ministry. Appropriate educational background and teaching experience is required. BABY BOTTLE DONATION

The Knights of Columbus will again be collaborating with our parishes to help raise funds for Women's Health Resource (CPC). Last year over $3,000.00 was collected by our parishes to help support life at our local Crisis Pregnancy Center. Baby bottles will be made available the weekend of May 10/11. The baby bottles will be placed at the two main entrances of the Church. Prayerfully consider taking a bottle home to make a donation and return to Church by the weekend of May 24/25. Please return all bottles by that date even if unable to make a contribution. Bins for the returned bottles will be available at the main entrances of the Church. If unable to return by the requested date you may just drop off at the parish office. All contributions will be given to our local Women's Health Resource. Thank you for your Pro Life Support.

Y.E.S. – Youth Elect Service Project– Youth REGISTRATION

The 2025 Defiance Y.E.S. project begins Thursday, June 5th at 5:30 p.m.  Incoming 8th grade students through graduating seniors are encouraged to join us for this weekend service retreat. This will give you opportunities to make new friends from throughout Defiance and the surrounding area, have some great fun, grow in faith and be the hands and feet of Christ in your community!  This 3-day rewarding experience will call beautiful Camp Lakota home for 3 days, and close with 5:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday, June 7th at St John’s Catholic Church. Invite your friends because the opportunities are endless, and the reward is eternal!

Time is running out to sign up!! Teens of incoming 8th grade through outgoing seniors, you can still sign up for a fun and rewarding retreat at Camp Lakota! The Y.E.S. project needs your help! Go to link and sign up by May 29th.

 

DONATIONS of water, drinks, snacks and monetary donations are still needed. Please drop off at your parish with YES noted on it!
